GUM DISEASE TREATMENT

Calculus left sitting on or underneath your gums for extended periods of time causes chronic inflammation of that area. With time, we see irreversible changes including bone loss and loss of gums around the teeth. If untreated, the teeth will eventually become loose and infected as the bone and gums holding them in erodes away.

Although, there is no predictable way to get this bone and gum back currently, we use both traditional techniques and advanced laser techniques to help stop or slow down the progression of this disease. Until the final stages, this is disease is actually completely painless which is why it is one of the most prevalent conditions we see. Due to the underlying chronic inflammation of this disease, it is seen to be co morbid with other inflammatory medical diseases.
