About Dr Andrew Bachour
Dr Andrew Bachour is a compassionate and highly experienced dentist with a special interest in airway health, craniofacial pain, TMJ disorders, and sleep-related breathing disorders, with a focus on understanding the deeper connections between breathing, growth and development, pain, and overall health.
Andrew graduated from Dentistry with Honours in 2006 and among many university awards for his outstanding academic achievements, he also holds master’s degrees in both Sleep Medicine and in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics. A passionate lifelong learner, Andrew is committed to a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to healthcare and is currently undertaking two additional Master’s degrees in Acupuncture and in Orofacial Pain to further expand his integrative treatment approach. He has been awarded a Fellowship in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine, and is a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the International Academy for Dental-Facial Esthetics, recognising his outstanding leadership and contribution to the field of Dentistry.
Andrew is focused on holistic patient care, recognising that every system forms part of a much larger whole. He endeavours to address the underlying cause of problems as opposed to a symptom focused approach. To support this, he has undertaken diverse training, including certification from the Australian Medical Acupuncture College, certification in the Buteyko Breathing Method and qualified in hypnotherapy, amongst other health related studies.
Andrew is always grateful to have the opportunity to give back what he has learnt through teaching. Beyond medicine and dentistry, Andrew has a deep curiosity about the natural world and the universe. He also has a Master’s degree with Distinction in Astrophysics and received much recognition in his achievements in the field of physics, reflecting his belief that the pursuit of knowledge across disciplines enriches both science and healthcare.
